Signs of Summer

15 May 2012

Edgecomb Potters is moving forward and getting ready for Summer! We've already had lots of exciting updates to our new website including a new Gift Registry, a Donations Page where you can give to the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, online shopping features that make it easier than ever to experience our Maine craft tradition!

WHAT'S NEW:

We are introducing three new mugs: The 28 oz. Whale Tail Chowder Mug, the 12 oz. Wave Mug (available online), and the 2.5 oz. Espresso Cup with saucer.

You may have also read about our two commemorative pieces: the Richard's Platter, and Richard's Small Lady Vases. As one of Richard's favorite pieces, this platter was brought back in very limited quantities and carefully glazed with the Edgecomb Potters logo hand carved on the back by our most seasoned staff. The Lady Vases were present at each of the tables during Richard's Memorial Event and only 80 were available. Each piece is signed by Christine Hilton.

For those who are always asking about purchasing dinner plates separately, we now have dinner plates, charger plates, side plates and bowls available for purchase individually. Currently, we have Bahama Blue, Robin's Egg, PS Blue, Arctic Ice, Amber Crystal, Honey Green and Winter Storm.

You may know, while we make all the pottery on site here in Edgecomb, we also represent 300 - 350 other American Craftspeople. As we get into our busy season, we are receiving shipments of this year's newest jewelry, lamps, sculptures and wooden crafts. We can't wait for you to see what we have!

THE FLAGSHIP STORE

In our Edgecomb location, we've dressed the deck and moved our seconds and overstocks back outside for the season. We've had some rain, but the sunshine is poking through and the pottery is sparkling! Rachel just took down a large kiln of our newest November Night Crystal Glaze containing the first mugs in that color. Over 118 uprights (mugs and vases) came out of that kiln - and that's not including flatware such as bowls, plates and serving pieces!  Rachel just let us know that the next couple of kilns will be filled with Amber Crystal, November Night and Tropical Paradise Glazes.

THE FREEPORT OUTLET STORE

Edgecomb Potters in Freeport is now our official outlet store! Karen (our Freeport Manager) has some regularly priced items, and two floors of sale lamps, pottery seconds and first quality overstocks, jewelry, wall sculptures, and wood crafts. Visit our store on School Street in Freeport for some great prices on unique American crafts. Also, remember that our Freeport store is open late on the third Friday of every month during the busy season for Third Friday Art Walk!

THE OLD PORT

Our Portland Store on 46 Exchange Street is located in the Historic Old Port. It's a lovely area to walk around, have lunch and shop for our newest arrivals! We will be participating in First Friday Art Walks and our Manager, Steve, will be keeping the shop open until 9pm on those days. The Old Port Festival is happening June 10th. It will be kicking off with a parade at 11:00 a.m. followed by lots of family-friendly activities, food and of course, shopping!

We always appreciate suggestions and feedback, so please feel free to call or submit a question online using our contact form!

See you this Summer!

Welcome to our New Site

30 January 2012

We’ve been putting a lot of work in behind the scenes and our new website is finally up!  There has been lots of changes, updates and a few curveballs along the way, but we’re ready with an improved web store, contact us page, easier navigation, and more. We are looking forward to all the plans and adventures that 2012 will bring and we know our wonderful customers are too.

This website is still being improved and “tweaked”. If you have any suggestions for us, please let us know. We hope you will join us this year and become a part of our lives as we continue on to our 36th year. We are so thankful for everyone that has helped make Edgecomb Potters what it is today and for your continued support as we move forward.
